T'Wolves, Lynx Eye New Practice Facility In Downtown Minneapolis

The T'Wolves and WNBA Lynx today announced that they have "signed a letter of intent to locate a training facility at Block E, the nearly vacant retail complex in downtown Minneapolis." The move is "part of a broader announcement involving Block E’s renovation." The cost of the renovation was not quantified, but property owners Camelot LLC said that "they will not be requesting public financing or subsidies." Minneapolis-based RSP Architects has been retained for the project (STARTRIBUNE.com, 11/25).

A's, Raiders Receive New Lease Agreements At O.co Coliseum

The A's and Raiders today received new lease agreements to remain at O.co Coliseum, after officials at the facility approved short-term deals for both teams. The Raiders' lease was extended through the '14 NFL season, and the A's are signed on through December '15. The Coliseum's Joint Powers Authority said that the Raiders will pay $400,000 in '14, with the A's to pay $1.75M "each of the two years." The lease deals "now go before Oakland and Alameda County officials" (AP, 11/25).

Royals Tweak Alternate Uniforms, Adding Classic KC Logo

The Royals today announced updates to the club's road alternate uniform for the '14 season. Changes to the "royal blue" uniform include the classic "KC" logo being featured on the jersey and cap; white and powder blue trimming for the numbers and player names; and other design elements borrowed from the "batting practice" uniforms worn from the '80s through the early '00s. The Royals Majestic Team Store at Kauffman Stadium, operating under extended holiday hours, will offer the new jersey exclusively through Dec. 2 (Royals).

NBA's Holiday Giving Includes Social Media Photo Mosaic

The NBA today announced the launch of its "NBA Give BIG" program combining its social media presence with charitable efforts. Starting today and ending Dec. 31, fans can use the hashtag #NBAGiveBIG on Twitter and Instagram to share photos, videos and stories from their seasonal community projects. The entries are being used to create a social media photo mosaic. Initiatives involve all 30 NBA teams and all 17 D-League teams. Also, each of the 10 teams playing on Christmas Day will host a gift exchange. Corporate partners Dick's Sporting Goods and Spalding will donate basketballs (THE DAILY).

NLL Announces Signing Of Under Armour As Official Supplier

The NLL today formally announced a deal with Under Armour as the league’s new exclusive supplier of performance apparel, footwear & equipment through the '16 season. The deal takes effect with the start of the NLL season on Dec. 28. The apparel supplied will include baselayer gear, as well as UA's new Charge Gloves and Charge 2 lacrosse heads (NLL). UA replaces Reebok, "which had held that position with the NLL for the past eight years." Financial terms were not available. The deal "does not include actual uniforms," but UA "will have a significant sideline presence" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/25 issue).

Washington Times, CSN Mid-Atlantic Announce Content-Sharing Deal

The Washington Times and CSN Mid-Atlantic today announced a content-sharing agreement that allows the newspaper to use the RSN's "digital coverage on its website and in print." Comcast in a statement said that the deal will allow the Times to "'triple' its total sports coverage." The agreement is effective immediately. Financial terms were not disclosed (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/25).

Buzzer Beaters....

NBC Sports Group today announced that it will air 41 regular-season MLS games in '14 across NBC and NBCSN, with three of those games televised on the broadcast network and the other 38 on the cable channel (NBC Sports). See the full '14 MLS schedule.

AEG has ended its relationship with AEG Live President & CEO Randy Phillips, and is restructuring the subsidiary's management. The company subsequently named AEG Europe President & CEO Jay Marciano AEG Live Chair (AEG).

Spalding owner Russell Brands today announced that it is launching a new footwear division, and the company will now compete in the basketball footwear category (Spalding).

The ACC today anounced that the '13 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship at Bank of America Stadium will have an 8:00pm ET kickoff and be nationally televised on ABC (ACC).

Road America on Saturday launched its new website, RoadAmerica.com, and the site now is optimized for mobile usage (PADDOCKTALK.com, 11/23).
