NHL To Help Produce New All-Access TV Series "NHL Revealed"

The NHL today announced that it will "cooperate with the production and airing of an all-access TV series that will feature players, coaches and support staff as they prepare" for upcoming outdoor contests and the Sochi Games. The seven-part series, "NHL Revealed: A Season Like No Other," will begin Jan. 22 on NBCSN and will initially feature the Kings and Ducks ahead of the Jan. 25 Stadium Series game at Dodger Stadium. The episodes also will be rebroadcast in Canada on the CBC and Sportsnet. The series is modeled on HBO's "24/7" (LATIMES.com, 11/18).

AT&T Extends Sponsorship Of Pebble Beach Pro-Am Through '24

The PGA Tour, Monterey Peninsula Foundation and AT&T today formally announced that AT&T has renewed its sponsorship of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am through '24. The telecommunications company has sponsored the event since '86 (PGA Tour). AT&T's previous deal was set to expire in '14. Most title deals in the past "have gone out three to four years, but as the tour has gone into renewal talks in recent few years, it has sought longer terms" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/18 issue).

Orlando City, Orlando Health Announce Sponsorship Extension

USL Pro club Orlando City today announced an extension of its sponsorship deal with Orlando Health, which will remain the official healthcare partner of the club, Orlando City Youth Soccer and the club’s proposed downtown stadium. Having served as the only jersey sponsor during the club’s history in Orlando, the agreement also means Orlando Health is on the verge of becoming the first jersey partner for an MLS expansion club before it begins MLS play (OCSC).

Conde Nast, GQ Debut Documentary Series On Football Concussions

Conde Nast Entertainment and GQ today are premiering "Casualties of the Gridiron," a new documentary series that chronicles life for former pro football players who have suffered multiple concussions in their careers. The films, produced in partnership with Endeavor Films and Bywater Films, will appear on multiple digital outlets including the official GQ video site and YouTube channel. Each of the eight total episodes will premiere on a Monday or Thursday through Dec. 18 (Conde Nast).

Mackenzie Says CVC Would Fire F1's Ecclestone If He Is Guilty

CVC co-Founder & co-Chair Donald Mackenzie today said that the F1 rights holder "would not hesitate to sack" F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone "if he had committed a crime in his dealings with a jailed German banker." Mackenzie in a hearing at London's High Court denied that Ecclestone "was being kept in his post because of his importance to the business." Ecclestone is facing a $100M damages claim over "allegations that he sold the business for too little when CVC became the largest shareholder" in '05 (REUTERS, 11/18).

The NFL today announced that the originally scheduled Dec. 1 Giants-Redskins game will remain in place on NBC's "SNF" (NFL).

Blue Diamond Growers has agreed to a sponsorship deal with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association, making it the official snack nut of the U.S. skiing, freeskiing and snowboarding teams for the '14 Sochi Games (Blue Diamond).

The SXSW Film & Interactive festival today announced that it has added a conversation between U.S. national soccer team coach Jurgen Klinsmann and ESPN's Roger Bennett to the SXsports track of its '14 festival. The SXsports event runs March 7-9 (SXSW).

Elliott Sadler "will once again drive the No. 11" Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in '14. OneMain Financial will again serve as primary sponsor (NASCAR.com, 11/18).

UFC today formally announced that as expected, it will host a PPV event at Prudential Center the night before Super Bowl XLVIII. The main event of UFC 169 will be a Dominick Cruz-Renan Barao bantamweight bout (NORTHJERSEY.com, 11/18).
