L.A. OKs Talks With Dodgers Over Resources For '20 All-Star Game

In a move to help the Dodgers secure the ‘20 MLB All-Star Game, the L.A. City Council signed off yesterday on a motion to “negotiate a contract with the team over the use of city resources associated with the event.” The motion “authorizes the city to receive $100,000 from the Dodgers as payment for the provision of city services that may be required to host the game, and for city staff to negotiate a contract with the team.” The Dodgers have not hosted the MLB ASG since ’80. L.A. Councilman Gil Cedillo said that MLB officials will be visiting L.A. soon to "scout Dodger Stadium as a potential site” (DAILYNEWS.com, 2/28).
