Octagon Tops Sports Business Awards For Corporate Consulting

Octagon took home the SBA last night for Corporate Consulting, Marketing & Client Services, its third such award. Octagon has been nominated in the category 11 times. “It's a great feeling of recognition for our team members and our clients,” said Octagon Global Marketing President John Shea. “Sports helps energize and inspire in times like these. I look forward to carrying the award back to our offices to sit with the others. I just don’t know yet when that will be."

PROPERTY CONSULTING, SALES & CLIENT SERVICES: Legends Hospitality won the award for best in property consulting, sales and client services. This past year, Legends spear-headed premium ticket sales for the NFL’s two newest stadiums, L.A.’s SoFi Stadium and Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. Legends is also managing SoFi Stadium’s food and beverage program and merchandising operations. This was Legends' fifth nomination in this category and its second win. Legends President of Global Partnerships Chris Hibbs said, "It's been a busy year and a busy time, but we're proud of the results we've been able to achieve."

EVENT & EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING: Bespoke Sports & Entertainment had a big year supporting its clients, but especially Academy Sports+Outdoors, doubling the sporting goods retailer’s number of activation days and delivering increases in every measured category. The winners fended off 160over90, CSM Sport & Entertainment, Engine Shop and Intersport. Bespoke President Greg Busch mentioned that he and fellow founder Mike Boykin had won SBAs at previous stops, but that this one meant more since it was their own firm, which just turned 6 years old. “This is just validation of our vision,” Busch said, adding later, “we’re going to have a couple of adult beverages."

BEST IN TALENT REPRESENTATION: Wasserman took home the award for best in talent representation, with COO & Exec VP Jason Ranne accepting. He said, "This award is a testament to (the staff) during such a challenging year. ... We work in all facets of the industry across the world, and our purpose is to serve our clients. We are proud to stand behind them and advocate for them."
