MLB Sponsor Chevy Touts World Series MVP Award In TV Ad

Longtime MLB corporate sponsor Chevrolet is debuting an ad during Dodgers-Rays Game 6 on Fox to support its MVP Award, in which a car is given to the World Series MVP after the clinching game. There is a hometown tie -- Chevy’s Tahoe is the car being awarded and the plant which produces the SUVs is less than 2.5 miles from Globe Life Field. Accordingly, the ad from agency Commonwealth//McCann links the World Series and the 65-year-old GM plant in Arlington.

"It was a great opportunity to marry the MVP of America’s pastime and the work that goes into producing our products," said Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Marketing & Advertising Manager Matt Tepatti. Plans for the award, which will be handed out should the Dodgers win tonight, have the car being presented by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on the field in front of a Chevy outfield wall sign. The Tahoe will be on the field, as usual, but due to the COVID protocols, there will not be a Chevy exec there. Chevy has been an MLB sponsor since ‘05.
