NFL Will Consider Making Pass Interference Reviewable

The NFL plans to "give consideration this offseason to making pass interference calls subject to instant replay" after the controversial finish to yesterday's NFC title game. A source said, "It will be discussed at length along with additional fouls that coaches feel should be subject to review." The competition committee has been "staunchly opposed in the past to making judgment calls such as pass interference reviewable by replay." But the outcome of Rams-Saints "might be enough to change some minds" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 1/21).

NFL Unveils '19 U.K. Matchups; Panthers, Texans Are Newcomers

The NFL announced its London game matchups for the '19 season: Panthers-Buccaneers, Texans-Jaguars, Bears-Raiders and Bengals-Rams. The inclusion of the Panthers and Texans means the Packers are the "only NFL team that will not have played" in the U.K. The locations and dates of the games "will be announced later." Two of the U.K. games "will be played at Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium, and the other two at Wembley Stadium" (ESPN.com, 1/21).

Meanwhile, the Chiefs and Chargers are scheduled to play in Mexico's Estadio Azteca in '19. The Chiefs "will be the visiting team, and the date will be set when the schedule is revealed this spring." This comes after Chiefs-Rams was moved out of Mexico in November '18 (KANSASCITY.com, 1/21).

Falcons Reiterate Food Prices Will Remain Low For Super Bowl

Falcons President & CEO Rich McKay reiterated that Mercedes-Benz Stadium "would have its 'Fan First Menu Pricing'" in place at Super Bowl LIII. Compared to concession prices for last year's game at U.S. Bank Stadium, a "hot dog is $4 less expensive" at the Atlanta venue, while "beer is $1.10 less per 20 ounces." McKay said that "increasing the prices based on the magnitude of the Super Bowl was never an option." A meeting "took place two weeks ago with concessionaire Levy to make the final preparations for the Super Bowl," and one "last-minute alteration was to add another walk-in cooler" (ESPN.com, 1/21).
