NBA Committee Set To Start Discussion About Forcing Sterling To Sell

There will be a conference call tomorrow with members of the NBA Advisory & Finance Committee, which will "start the discussion" about forcing Donald Sterling to sell the Clippers. The players "want a timetable, and they want it fast," regarding when a vote by the owners might take place. There are a "lot of people who expect the vote to ultimately be a landslide supporting Adam Silver's ruling here." However, there are a "lot of questions and a lot of details that need to be sorted out that suggest we might not get a timetable as quickly as the players wanted." The "big question" is how transparent the vote will be ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 4/30).

Members of the committee are Heat Owner Micky Arison, Spurs Owner Peter Holt, Thunder Owner Clay Bennett, Lakers Exec VP/Business Operations Jeanie Buss, Raptors Chair Larry Tanenbaum, Knicks Owner Jim Dolan, Pacers Owner Herb Simon, Celtics Managing Partner & CEO Wyc Grousbeck, Suns Owner Robert Sarver and T’Wolves Owner Glen Taylor, who serves as Chair. Taylor also is interim Chair of the NBA BOG (John Lombardo, Staff Writer).
