Women in Sports & Events (WISE) today announced that HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg will be the recipient of the inaugural WISE Champion Award, which will be given annually to a male executive who has championed women in the workplace. Greenburg will be given the award during the Women of the Year Awards Luncheon at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in N.Y. on June 8.
WISE today also announced the presenters for its Women of the Year awards, which will be given to WTA Chair & CEO Stacey Allaster, USOC CMO Lisa Baird and MLB Senior VP/Diversity & Strategic Alliances Wendy Lewis during the luncheon. Ari Fleischer Communications President Ari Fleischer will present to Allaster, former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will present to Baird and MLB Exec VP & CFO Jonathan Mariner will present to Lewis (WISE).
Meanwhile, WNBA President Laurel Richie today announced CBS News' Katie Couric as the recipient of the '11 WNBA Inspiration Award. The league will present Couric with the award during the sixth annual WNBA Inspiring Women Luncheon at Gotham Hall in N.Y. on May 24 (WNBA).
