Davis entered his second season as owner of the Aces intent on elevating the club’s female leadership under Fargas. Together, they have delivered on that effort, bringing aboard Chief Business Development Officer Jennifer Azzi and her wife, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Blair Hardiek. Then came the hire of San Antonio Spurs assistant Becky Hammon as head coach, complete with a league-record $1 million-plus salary. A new 80,000-square-foot training facility housing offices, two training courts and a leadership academy will open next year. “We have energy. We see the potential. … How are we going to grow this game and women’s sports without being disruptive?” Davis told the San Francisco Chronicle following Hammon’s hire.
