Riot Games’ Whalen Rozelle outlines company’s growth

The League of Legends Championship Series kicked off in L.A. on Jan. 26, launching the U.S. circuit's second season of League of Legends since publisher Riot Games sold permanent franchise spots. After developing a reputation for being slow to monetize its large fan base compared to some other esports properties, Riot Games has signed a flurry of sponsorship deals recently, including Mastercard and Dell Alienware at the global level. Whalen Rozelle, Riot Games’ co-head of esports, oversees league competition at a global level and predicts further commercial growth this year.
