CAA consulting hires Eccleston for analytics

With the demand for sponsorship analytics increasing daily, CAA Sports Consulting has hired veteran researcher Jeff Eccleston to head its research and analytics practice.

ECCLESTON
Eccleston most recently was vice president and group director at Team Epic-owned Sponsorship Research International. He’s worked at SRi since 1999, when it was a unit of the now-defunct ISL.

Eccleston, a former SportsBusiness Journal/Daily Forty Under 40 honoree, will be based in CAA’s New York City offices. He’ll start the new job Aug. 31 and report to CAA Sports Consulting head Greg Luckman.

“We’ve been increasing our focus on analytics and ROI research as the industry has asked for those services, but this hiring puts a real point on those efforts,” Luckman said.

Clients of CAA’s 4-year-old sports consulting practice include JPMorgan Chase, Emirates, Time Warner Cable, Diageo, Farmers Insurance and Mondelez. During the past 14 months, CAA Sports Consulting has acquired experiential marketing firm PGW, and in June it acquired corporate hospitality providers Beyond Sports & Entertainment and Goviva to form CAA Premium Experience.
