John Hillerich IV takes over family’s bat company

John Hillerich IV has succeeded John Hillerich III as CEO of the family-owned company Hillerich & Bradsby Co.

Hillerich IV has been president of the company's PowerBilt Golf Division since 1997. Hillerich & Bradsby Co. is made up of six divisions: Louisville Slugger, Louisville Hockey, PowerBilt Golf, Larimer & Norton Timber, the Louisville Slugger Museum and Technology Products.

Seventeen-year old John "Bud" Hillerich first made the firm's most famous product, the Louisville Slugger baseball bat, at his father's woodworking shop in 1884.

Hillerich IV is a graduate of Ballard High School in Louisville and attended Wake Forest University. He lives in Louisville with his wife, Kimberley, son, John "Quinn" Hillerich V, and daughter, Piper.
