Phoenix Coyotes President Shawn Hunter will be recognized as an Outstanding Sports Executive at the sixth annual March of Dimes Arizona Athletic Awards.

Reid Ryan, president and CEO of the Class AA Texas League Round Rock (Texas) Express, received the James Keller Sportsmanship Award at the Greater Austin sports Association Hall of Honor Banquet.

The Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame will induct five new members: Robert Lando and Dave Lando of The Athlete's Foot; Ralph Lafferty, Brunswick Corp.; Curt Mueller, Mueller Sports Medicine; and the late Delby Clare Humphrey, Schutt Manufacturing Co.

Houston Couch, William Ploetz and Bruce Williams received the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America Distinguished Service Award. The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association won the 2002 President's Award for Environmental Stewardship for its environmental management resource manual.

Mike Boekholder of the Class AAA Indianapolis Indians, Tom McAfee of the Class AA San Antonio Missions, Cindy Unger of the Class A Jupiter (Fla.) Hammerheads and Anthony Lee of the short-season Class A Spokane Indians are the first winners of the Sports Turf Manager of the Year Awards for Minor League Baseball, sponsored by the Sports Turf Managers Association.

The Oklahoma State University Athletic Center won two Excellence in Construction awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Oklahoma. Gary Sparks Cos. was the architect in a joint venture with Rosser International, and Manhattan Construction Co. was the contractor.

The Williams Championship, held at Tulsa Country Club, was awarded the Golden Driver Award for Outstanding Operations by the LPGA players.
