Neath RFC Forced To Postpone Match Due To Financial Uncertainty

The Welsh Rugby Union is "monitoring the current turmoil" at Welsh Premier Division side Neath RFC after the "famous old club" was forced to postpone Saturday's league match at Bedwas, according to Anthony Woolford of WALES ONLINE. The Welsh All Blacks "have had to rely on permit players" from other clubs to fulfill fixtures this month after "losing a number of their squad due to financial uncertainty at The Gnoll." But with the National League resuming after Wales' autumn int'l series, Neath had to postpone this weekend's visit to Bridge Field until '19. Whether the west Wales-based club will be able to fulfill all its fixtures this season "remains to be seen." Neath is facing a winding up order, which "could spell the end of the Welsh All Blacks." A WRU statement on the current crisis at The Gnoll said, "Neath have announced they will aim to reschedule the Bedwas fixture for the new year" (WALES ONLINE, 11/29).
