Nike and England Netball announced a multi-year partnership covering the elite women’s team and the organization's 3,000 clubs across England. The agreement makes Nike the official partner of England Netball for the first time, and the brand will design and supply on- and off-court kits for the England Roses during their int'l netball competitions. The England team will debut the Nike performance kit during the three-match Vitality Netball Int'l Series against Uganda from Tuesday to Sunday (Nike). SKY SPORTS' Sacha Shipway reported the multi-year deal with Nike is "undoubtedly the most high profile for England Netball" and head coach Tracey Neville said that it will "impact the netball world on a global scale." Hot "on the heels" of England's deal with Vitality, the Roses added Nike. Neville: "We talk about wanting to be in the Olympics and wanting to take our sport further -- they are the biggest sponsorship deals across all countries, across all sports. From our point of view in respect to networking, getting our sport out, it's the best way to go. Our commercial department have done an excellent job to seal that deal for the future" (SKY SPORTS, 11/27).

Catalan pharmaceutical company Grifols is reportedly the organization that is "currently best-placed to give a last name" to Barcelona's Camp Nou and "attach its name to the lavish Espai Barça project," according to Juan Jiménez of AS. A "little over a year ago," it was reported that the company was in talks to sponsor the stadium, but Grifols denied it was interested. At that time, Catalunya Ràdio claimed that Barcelona would receive €400M ($451M) over 30 years from Grifols (AS, 11/26). SPORT reported it is believed the talks between Grifols and Barcelona "have been renewed in secret," and, while "there are important details to resolve, both parties are optimistic about the possibility" of a deal by the end of '18. Grifols reached an agreement in August to take control of Spanish Basketball League (ACB) side Joventut de Badalona, which will "allow the club to survive its difficult economic situation" (SPORT, 11/27).
BACK IN THE PICTURE: The EFE reported former Barcelona President Joan Laporta, who led the club from '03-10, revealed that he "plans to return to the ballot box in the next club elections," planned for '21. Ligue 1 club Paris St. Germain has "stepped up its efforts over the past year to position itself as a lifestyle brand," according to Joshua Robinson of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. Earlier this season, PSG "parlayed its Nike sponsorship into a special line of gear" produced by Jordan Brand. Its Champions League jerseys, for instance, "feature the Jumpman logo instead of the Swoosh." The club "held a Paris fashion show to unveil it." Soon, the list of "A-listers wearing PSG gear included Justin Timberlake and LeBron James" (WSJ, 11/27). In Paris, Ronan Folgoas reported for the first time this season, PSG will wear its white Jordan Brand jersey during its Champions League match against Liverpool on Wednesday. The club has four different jerseys for this season: one home and one away jersey, used in the majority of its Ligue 1 matches, and two "alternate" jerseys created in partnership with Jordan Brand, one black and one white. While PSG normally would wear its black alternate kit at home, the club "deliberately decided" to wear its white Jordan Brand jersey on Wednesday. It is a "marketing decision" guided by the lack of certainty of PSG's future in the European competition (LE PARISIEN, 11/27).
Liverpool agreed to a multi-year partnership with global business communications provider Mitel as its official global unified communications partner. Sources added that reports that the deal would carry a 1B yuan ($143.8M) price tag and a five-year term are incorrect (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 11/26).
