Football Notes: FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 Has Sold 150,000 Tickets

In September, ticket packages for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 went on sale, and since then, 45,000 packages have been sold (150,000 tickets). The tournament will take place across nine host cities in France and each has reported brisk ticket sales. Lyon, which will host the semifinals (July 2-3) and the final (July 7), has already sold all of its packages for the three matches, more than 22,000 (69,000 tickets) (FIFA).

The Kenyan Football Federation (FKF) condemned a Confederation of African Football decision to reinstate Equatorial Guinea to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. The FKF said that it is "profoundly astonished" by the move, which represents "a great injustice," and plans an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (BBC, 11/8).

Eredivisie side Ajax tied Benfica in a Champions League match "marred by violence in the stands." Police and supporters "clashed" in the away end at the Estadio da Luz (BBC, 11/8).
