Media Notes: Real Madrid Takes Action Against Portuguese Paper

Real Madrid took legal action against a Portuguese newspaper that reported the club "forced Cristiano Ronaldo to settle with the woman who accused him of rape." Real said that the information published by Correio da Manhã is "categorically false" and was printed in an effort to "seriously damage the image of this club." Real said that it has "absolutely no knowledge of any of the information that the newspaper published with regard to the player (AP, 10/11).

Premier League teams will have "one more day's rest in this year's festive period" than they had in '17, but will "all still play four games in two weeks." There were no fixtures on Dec. 24, 25 and 29 in '17. This year, Dec. 24, 25, 28 and 31 "have been left blank" (BBC, 10/12).

The France vs. Iceland friendly on Thursday drew an average of 5.9 million viewers on TF1 in France. The 2-2 draw recorded a peak audience of 7.1 million, which translated to a 28.1% market share (L’ÉQUIPE, 10/12).
