StatSports To Create Nearly 240 New Jobs As Part Of Expansion Efforts

Sports technology firm StatSports will create almost 240 new jobs as it continues its expansion into new markets across the globe with its wearable analytics devices, according to Peter O'Dwyer of the LONDON TIMES. The Newry-based company on Monday announced a multi-million pound investment which will result in the creation of 210 new jobs at its County Down HQ, "with a further 27 roles coming on stream across its other offices." StatSports provides wearable player tracking devices and analysis software "to a host of popular professional sports teams" including ManU, the NBA N.Y. Knicks and the Brazilian national football team. It is also investing £5.5M ($7.2M) in research and development, which it said would "help the company to develop new products similar to its recently launched Apex Athlete Series" aimed at amateurs rather than professional athletes (LONDON TIMES, 9/18).
