Football Notes: Court Revokes IMX's Commercial Rights To Maracanã

A Brazilian court on Monday revoked IMX's commercial rights to Rio de Janeiro's Maracanã "due to irregularities in the bidding process." In '13, IMX was awarded the rights to the stadium in a 35-year deal (AFP, 9/12).

La Liga President Javier Tebas wants to bring a match from the Ecuadorian top flight to Spain. Tebas this week traveled to the South American country to "sign agreements and help the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) make its league one of the strongest" in Latin America. His idea is to hold an Ecuadorian league match in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia (AS, 9/13).

The Premier League will test VAR across multiple games for the first time on Saturday. After VAR tests at individual fixtures last season, the Premier League "now wants to see how the system copes with several games at the same time." The trial, across all five 3pm kickoffs, will be at the central VAR hub (BBC, 9/13).

Scottish Premiership side Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon called for "more transparency surrounding the decisions made by the Scottish FA disciplinary panel." It follows "a number of contentious rulings this season." Gordon: "It seems quite a clouded subject on how they get to these decisions" (BBC, 9/13).
