Overwatch League Inks Multi-Year Content Deal With Twitter

Blizzard Entertainment signed a multi-year deal with Twitter to develop content for the Overwatch League, according to Trent Murray of THE ESPORTS OBSERVER. The partnership will kick off on Saturday during the All-Star Weekend, during which the Overwatch League will provide Twitter with highlight videos "in near-real-time." Twitter Head of Gaming Partnerships Rishi Chadha said, "Twitter is where Overwatch League conversations happen and we're thrilled to bring more content to the platform for several years." For the '19 season, OWL preview show "Watchpoint" will stream live on the league’s Twitter feed each week. Twitter "will also distribute near-real-time highlights throughout the season." The Overwatch League is "currently locked in" an exclusive online streaming deal with Twitch, reported to be worth $90M over two years (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 8/23).
