Orange España Vows To Acquire La Liga, CL Rights

Orange España said that its clients will have access to the football content recently acquired by Telefónica, while Vodafone España "will consider making an offer," according to the EFE. Both Orange and Vodafone "assured that they will be vigilant regarding any possible anti-competitive practice by Telefónica." Orange España CEO Laurent Paillassot said, "We have been pretty clear for months. If Telefónica has them, we will have them." Telefónica paid a total of around €4B ($4.7B) for football rights in Spain, spending €2.94B ($3.45B) for the La Liga rights from '19-22 and buying the Champions and Europa League rights from Mediapro for the next three seasons for €1.08 ($1.27B) (EFE, 7/10).
