Marketplace Roundup: La Liga Side Espanyol Names Alfa Romeo Its Official Vehicle

La Liga side Espanyol reached a sponsorship agreement with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Spain in which Alfa Romeo will become the official vehicle of the club during the '17-18 season. FCA and Alfa Romeo will have a brand presence inside and outside the team's stadium (Espanyol).

Danish esports team North announced a title sponsorship deal with esports bookmaker GG.Bet. Sources close to the situation said that this was "a high six-figure deal, signed for a period of twelve months." The team will play as "North GG.Bet" in all applicable tournaments and the activation includes a co-branded documentary series covering the team's journey throughout '18 (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 1/16).

The FA of Ireland extended its partnership with Ford Ireland. The car manufacturer will continue to serve as the FAI's official vehicle partner and will "supply a fleet of more than 30 dual-branded vehicles" that will be used to provide FAI development officers with the means to run grassroots training programs. The length and financial terms of the renewal have not been released (SOCCEREX, 1/16).

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin extended its partnership with adhesives manufacturer Orafol. The company will remain an exclusive partner of the club at the second level until June 30, 2019. According to German outlet Sponsors.de, the deal is worth around €750,000 ($920,100) per year (SOCCEREX, 1/16).

The Irish FA Intermediate Cup named publisher Match on Tuesday as a sponsor through the remainder of the season, with the option to extend into future campaigns (Belfast Live).

Bundesliga side Augsburg extended its marketing partnership with Lagardère Sports through June 30, 2024. The agency will continue to assist the club with "acquiring sponsors, designing new sponsorship concepts and marketing the hospitality areas" at the Augsburg Arena. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed (SOCCEREX, 1/16).

Ligue 1 side Metz "extended and expanded" its partnership with technical services firm SPIE until June '20. The company will become the club's shirt pocket sponsor as part of the deal (SOCCEREX, 1/16).

The South African Premier Soccer League extended its partnership with Nedbank for the Nedbank Cup for the next five years (PSL).
