Australian Rio Olympic Team Chief KITTY CHILLER was appointed Gymnastics Australia CEO. Chiller announced in August that "she would not be putting her name forward to lead the Australian Olympic team to Tokyo and has spent the past two months exploring her options." As a former gymnast, she said that the role "spoke" to her (THE AUSTRALIAN, 10/21). ... Saudi Arabia appointed U.S.-raised Princess REEMA BINT BANDAR as the first female president of the Saudi Federation for Community Sports, which manages sports-related activities for men and women in the country. Her appointment "came amid a series of changes for women in Saudi Arabia hailed as a new progressive trend" (REUTERS, 10/23).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Argentine Superliga side Belgrano de Córdoba named PABLO LAVALLÉN its new coach, replacing SEBASTIÁN MÉNDEZ. JUAN MANUEL AZCONZÁBAL and DIEGO OSELLA were the "other two candidates the club considered" (CLARÍN, 10/21). ... Ascenso MX side Atlante announced the departure of coach RAÚL GUTIÉRREZ after the team's 4-1 loss to Tampico Madero on Saturday (LA AFICIÓN, 10/22). ... Liga MX side Querétaro named LUIS FERNANDO TENA its new coach, replacing JAIME LOZANO. The team is currently in second-to-last place (LA AFICIÓN, 10/22). ... Everton sacked Manager RONALD KOEMAN after Sunday’s 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal left the club in the Premier League relegation zone. The club is 18th in the league and won just two of its nine games this season. Koeman became the third EPL “managerial casualty” of the season after FRANK DE BOER left Crystal Palace and CRAIG SHAKESPEARE was sacked by Leicester City (BBC, 10/23).
