Facility Notes: Cork City To Play At Turners Cross Despite Damage From Storm Ophelia

The FA of Ireland confirmed League of Ireland Premier Division side Cork City's fixture with Derry City "will go ahead" Tuesday night at Turners Cross "despite the damage done to the stadium during Storm Ophelia" on Monday. The roof of the Derrynane Stand "came off after exceptionally strong winds battered Cork" (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 10/16).

Legal firm Pinsent Masons was appointed to carry out an independent review of the governance of the committee that oversees the running of Musselburgh racecourse. The track is operating on a temporary license until Dec. 31 "after a number of clashes between members of the Musselburgh Joint Racing Committee." The British Horseracing Authority declined to renew the course's license in July, but did agree to grant "temporary permission to race pending an independent review of the MJRC" (SKY SPORTS, 10/16).

No Kingsford Stadium, a group opposing Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen's plans for new facilities, is set to meet Aberdeen City Council CEO Angela Scott. The club recently put plans for the £50M ($66.2M) stadium and training facilities at Kingsford, near Westhill, "on hold" (BBC, 10/16).
