Marketplace Roundup: RHB Bank Announces S$1.5M Deal For Singapore Cup

RHB Bank Berhad announced a three-year extension of its sponsorship of the Singapore Cup from '17-19. The new deal is worth S$1.5M ($1.06M) and takes RHB’s sponsorship, which began in '05, to a total of S$7.5M ($5.3M). RHB’s partnership and support of local football’s premier tournament is the "longest running sponsorship by a corporate backer." RHB is also working with the FA of Singapore to organize football clinics for junior footballers (Singapore TODAY, 5/9).

Laureus Sport for Good will become the first official charity partner of the Hong Kong Sevens from '18. Laureus will "work closely with the event to raise funds for a variety of causes." Half of the funds raised will be dedicated to funding Laureus-supported projects within Hong Kong, furthering the Hong Kong Rugby Union’s aim of "harnessing the platform of the Sevens for the benefit of local society" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 5/10).

Eredivisie side Ajax extended its partnership with insurance firm Aegon. The firm will "continue its role as the team's official supplier, a third-tier sponsor, for another two seasons" (SOCCEREX, 5/10).

The Int'l Cricket Council appointed brewing company Kingfisher as the official lager partner for this year's ICC Champions Trophy to be held in England and Wales from June 1-18. Kingfisher will be the exclusive lager supplier at the three venues -- Edgbaston, The Oval and Cardiff. The brand will also be the exclusive lager at the ICC Champions Trophy Fan Park (ICC).
