Event Notes: Hurling Event To Be Held At Boston's Fenway Park In November

Hurling will return to Fenway Park in Boston for the first time in more than 60 years with the AIG Fenway Hurling Classic and Irish Festival from Nov. 22-25. 2015 All-Ireland Finalist Galway will take on Dublin in an exhibition featuring some of Ireland's top hurling players (Fenway Sports Management). ... The World Baseball Softball Confederation awarded a sanction to World Baseball Classic, Inc. for the 2017 World Baseball Classic and its qualifying rounds to be held in '16. He said, "It's a directive that we will go and have more wow factor inside our event and you saw (the response from) the crowd" (Brisbane COURIER-MAIL, 9/14). ... The Singapore Grand Prix schedule "should be unaltered this weekend despite the hazardous smog that has engulfed the city-state, though organisers have admitted the outlook changes 'from hour to hour.'" Smoke "from huge forest fires in Indonesia has spread to neighbouring Malaysia and Singapore, with air pollution levels in the latter currently bordering on 'very unhealthy.'" But an event spokesperson said that "there are no plans to deviate from the racing schedule -- for now at least" (London DAILY MAIL, 9/15).
