President Of Club Excluded From Spanish Basketball League Speaks Out

Spanish basketball club Ourense -- which was denied its bid to be included in the Spanish Basketball League (ACB) -- requested the "temporary suspension" of the league, according to EL MUNDO. Ourense President Antonio Gavilanes said, "It is a cowardly decision, which surprises us because the law protects us. There are legal reasons that say that we are right and let no one doubt that we will go until the end to defend the interests of our club. This has become a clash between the ACB and Spain's Superior Sports Council (CSD) and we are in the middle. It seems that here the one that is loudest, that protests the most, is correct. If they want this, then we also will have to act like this" (EL MUNDO, 8/31).
