NBA Phoenix Suns Owner Robert Sarver met on Wednesday with La Liga side Levante execs, according to Chilet & Bort of LEVANTE-EMV. The meeting began at 5pm at the Westin hotel in Valencia. He sat, "face-to-face," with the 33 members that form Fundación Cent Anys del Levante UD, which owns 70% of the shares in the club. The meeting "was of an informal nature and there reportedly was no vote." Sarver's objective, however, is "very clear: meet the club leaders and defend, without leaks or intermediaries, his offer and intentions for the future." Sources said that negotiations between Sarver and the club "have advanced in a satisfactory manner." Certain members of the Fundación, "initially skeptical about a sale of the club, have been reducing their doubts after weeks of meetings, and there is talk that a transaction of the club is a credible and close scenario" (
LEVANTE-EMV, 7/22). In Valencia, D. Rodríguez reported also present at the meeting were representatives of KPMG. Sarver left the meeting after 8pm, three hours after arriving at the hotel (
SUPERDEPORTE, 7/22).
