ALECK SKHOSANA "has been elected president of Athletics South Africa." Skhosana is replacing JAMES EVANS "who stepped down in February." Skhosana "was elected in a landslide victory." He received 31 votes, beating candidates SELLO MOKOENA, who received eight, STEVE MKASI got seven, while Evans picked up three. HAROLD ADAMS from Boland Athletics was elected as the ASA VP (EWN, 6/7). ... Supporters Direct, the organization that "helps sports fans become involved in the ownership and running of their clubs," has appointed ROBIN OSTERLEY as its new CEO. He spent the last 16 years at Making Music. During his time as CEO at the organization, an advocacy and support group for grass-roots music organizations, "he helped grow its funding base significantly and ran several high-profile lobbying campaigns in areas such as Gift Aid and music licensing" (CO-OPERATIVE NEWS, 6/9). ... J.League side Cerezo Osaka said on Monday that it had fired Manager RANKO POPOVIC "due to the club's poor results." The 46-year-old Serb "took the helm of the Osaka club in March" (AFP, 6/9).
