Event Notes: Amsterdam To Host 2017 European Field Hockey Championships

The European field hockey federation (EHF) and the sport's Dutch governing body (KNHB) announced that the 2017 EuroHockey Championships, women and men will be held at the Wagener Stadium in Amsterdam from Aug. 19-27, 2017. Three countries submitted an expression of interest -- France, Netherlands and Spain (Int'l Field Hockey Federation). ... The WTA Board Of Directors has approved a new int'l-level grass court event in Mallorca, Spain, set to make its debut on the WTA calendar two years from now. The event will be staged by e|motion management GmbH at a multi-purpose-built facility, the C'an Angeli tennis complex (WTA).
