Media Notes: TV One To Screen 22 Live World Cup Games On Website

TV One will screen 22 live games from this year's FIFA World Cup on its website. TVNZ has rights to screen 22 live games as part of its deal with Sky TV, "including all the quarter finals, semi finals and the final on July 14" (NZ HERALD, 5/8). ... AC Milan Manager Clarence Seedorf "will work as a pundit for the BBC" during the World Cup. The Dutchman performed a similar role during the '10 finals in South Africa "and has again been invited by the British television network to provide insight in Brazil" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 5/8). ... Deltatre announced on Thursday an agreement to provide graphic services to accompany the BBC’s coverage of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Using staff on-site in Rio de Janeiro and Salford, deltatre will provide graphic operations and support for the broadcaster’s studio-based programming of the tournament (deltatre). ... Paraguayan telecom company Copaco has "sublicensed its newly acquired media rights to the Paraguayan Primera División to the Millicom-owned communications and pay-TV brand Tigo." The one-year agreement "gives Tigo the rights to broadcast Primera División matches on its Tigo Sports television channel, whilst Copaco will retain the right to stream coverage of the competition on its IPTV service" (SOCCEREX, 5/8). ... Asics "has called a global review of its media planning and buying account, held by Manning Gottlieb OMD in the UK and its parent group, OMD, across EMEA." The company appointed OMD to its European media business in '08 and "works with other agencies elsewhere." It "plans to consolidate all planning and buying into a single agency." OMD "is taking part in the review" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 5/8).
