Marketplace Roundup: Adidas Releases Special-Edition Cleats To Honor Messi's Record

Adidas revealed its new "Messi 370" adizero F50 cleats to pay tribute to Lionel Messi passing the 370-goal mark with a hat trick in Barcelona's 7-0 win against La Liga Osasuna on Sunday. Messi has now scored 371 goals in his career and is the highest-scoring player in Barcelona history. Each pair of the special edition cleats -- numbered #001-#370 -- will feature a "different design on both the right and left foot, with the percentage of goals Messi has scored with his left foot, right foot, and head divided between each shoe" (COUNTERKICKS, 3/16). ... League Championship side Queens Park Rangers announced a five-year kit deal with Nike beginning with the '14-15 season (QPR). ... Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain has announced a partnership with the European network of holiday villages Center Parcs. PSG football workshops will be available in Center Parcs resorts (PSG). ... Scottish League 1 side Falkirk FC agreed to a kit deal with customer service company Webhelp UK for the '14-15 season (Falkirk). ... U.S.-based IT services and solutions company UST Global "has signed a two-year deal" to become a sponsor of Liga MX side Club Leon. The agreement "was brokered by sports content and branding company" Total Sports Asia (SOCCEREX, 3/17).
