German Pay-TV Operator Sky Renews Broadcast Deal For The Masters

German pay-TV operator Sky "has renewed its broadcast deal for The Masters golf tournament," according to Malte van Oven of GOLF POST. Sky announced that it "has extended its contract with The Masters for multiple years." The pay-TV network "did not disclose the exact length of the extension." In addition to TV broadcast rights, the extension "also includes Internet and mobile rights." Sky Sports Dir Burkhard Weber said, "Augusta is the most prestigious golf tournament and the embodiment of tradition and world class sports." The extension means Sky "will be the exclusive home of all four major golf tournaments" -- The Masters, U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship (GOLF POST, 3/17).
