Media Notes: FIBA Reaches New Agreement With CCTV To Cover Flagship Competitions

FIBA concluded a new agreement with China Central Television for the broadcast of its flagship competitions in the period '13-16. CCTV will show a wide range of games from tournaments on CCTV5 (FIBA). ... Both UPC Nederland and DTH platform Canal Digitaal Satelliet "have signed a distribution agreement to carry the new Fox channel and the Fox Sports premium channels." The two platforms "will carry the new free-to-view Fox channel," which is due to launch on Aug. 19 as well as the premium Fox Sports Eredivisie and Fox Sports Int'l channel, which both launched on Thursday. The two new deals "follow the broadcaster’s first carriage agreement with the country’s largest cable operator, Ziggo" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/1).
