Visa has collected more than 28 million "cheers" from fans worldwide for its "Go World" campaign. Since May, the financial services company has encouraged fans to cheer on its 60 sponsored athletes like U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps and gymnast Nastia Liukin by submitting digital "cheers" through clicks, posts, photos and video submissions on Visa's Facebook page. Creative and supportive cheers from U.S. consumers are going to be shown in congratulatory ads for medal-winning athletes during the Summer Games. Fans submitted cheers from 70 markets worldwide, but the most cheers came from the U.S., Brazil, Russia and Mexico. Among the cheers Visa received, 1.9 million came in the form of "likes" on the company's Facebook page. The five most-cheered athletes from Team Visa were: Li Na (tennis, China), Yelena Isinbayeva (pole vault, Russia), Michael Phelps (swimming, U.S.), Lopez Lomong (track & field, U.S.) and Azizul Awang (track cyclist, Malaysia). Visa also has had significant viewership of its "Go World" ads on YouTube. The company has tallied 25.7 million views for its commercials. Its "The Difference" spot, which shows Isinbayeva and Phelps, has picked up 8.5 million views worldwide.
