Electricity and gas company SSE has become the official energy partner of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The partnership with Scotland's largest company sees it join the Glasgow 2014 sponsor family with an official partner status, which is the highest rank within the Organizing Committee's commercial program. The company is the first U.K.-based tier-one Glasgow 2014 sponsor (Glasgow 2014).

CHEERS TO THAT: The South African Breweries' "beer behind our boys" Castle Lager has extended its association with the South African senior men's national football team (Bafana Bafana) for an additional five years. Castle Lager's relationship with Bafana Bafana began about two decades ago, at the time of South Africa's readmission to int'l football in '92 (South African Football Association).

CHANGING THE SWING OF THINGS: Custom golf club provider Tour59 has become an official partner to the 2012 English Challenge at Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa from July 26-29. Tour59 will bring its own custom-fitted wedges to the European Challenge Tour event when it returns to East Anglia. The clubs are forged, machined, hand ground and finished entirely in the U.K. Tour59 will be present on site all week, providing wedges tailored for individual needs (European Tour).
