Singapore National Games Adds Yonex As New Sponsor

Singapore National Games co-organizers -- the Singapore Sports Council and the People's Association -- have agreed on a S$22.7M ($17.9M) sponsorship agreement with sports and apparel  manufacturer Yonex. Yonex will be the official supplier of all equipment used in badminton, which is one of the top sports in the SNG. Mikasa has also been named the official ball provider for basketball, football and netball (SNG). In Singapore, Dan Guen Chin reported that the SNG is "aimed at offering the public an opportunity to partake in Singapore's sporting landscape" and bringing the community closer through sports. It will be held from Sept. 1-9 and will feature athletics, badminton, basketball, bowling, dragon boat racing, football, netball, sepak takraw, swimming and table tennis. An estimated 10,000 people have signed up for the annual community games, which serve as "qualifiers for seven of the 10 sports contested" at the SNG (TODAY, 7/12).
