Supporters Receive Assurances That Charles Green Will Not Sell Ibrox Or Murray Park

SPL Rangers preferred bidder Charles Green "does not plan to sell Ibrox and Murray Park and lease the facilities back," according to the Scotland DAILY RECORD. The former Sheffield United CEO's prospective ownership consortium has pledged £8.5M ($13.2M) for creditors "who will be able to vote on a Company Voluntary Arrangement next week" (DAILY RECORD, 6/7). In London, the BBC reported that the Rangers Fans Fighting Fund group "discussed a proposal" to rename Murray Park after club founder Moses McNeil or former player Davie Cooper, who died in '95. The training ground, which opened in '01, was named in honour of David Murray during his ownership of the club. Supporters "would be asked to vote on the new name when season tickets are renewed" (BBC, 6/7).
