Raptors Championship Gear Sets New NBA Store Sales Record

The Raptors winning their first NBA title in franchise history led to record "merchandise sales at the official NBA store." The NBA said that by Friday afternoon, the "combined online sales through NBAStore.com and NBAStore.ca had eclipsed the previous record" by 80%. The previous sales record was set in '16 after the Cavaliers defeated the Warriors for their first NBA championship, and Friday's records "were up 100 per cent year-over-year." The evidence was "loud and clear in Toronto, where Raptors fans ... swarmed the shops for championship gear" starting early Friday morning. The line of customers outside the official Raptors team store at Scotiabank Arena by mid-morning "appeared longer than it had been at any earlier point in the team's playoff run" (TORONTO STAR, 6/15).
