NASCAR's Jim France At Michigan, Doesn't Comment On Future

NASCAR interim Chair & CEO Jim France has been at Michigan Int'l Speedway this weekend, and as expected he has not held any formal press conferences or huddles with reporters. France, who took over this past week for his nephew Brian France after the latter’s arrest, did attend the drivers’ council meeting Friday night. A handful of drivers who attended told media that France made comments at times during the meeting but only about the usual topics and without giving an address on the leadership of NASCAR. France, who is one of the most respected figures in motorsports but known for eschewing the limelight, was approached by ESPN’s Bob Pockrass and NBC Sports’ Nate Ryan yesterday at the garage for comment, but the reporters said that France politely declined.
