WNBA Reviewing Situation That Led To Aces Pulling Out Of Game

The WNBA is "hoping to complete a review" of the canceled Las Vegas Aces-Washington Mystics game on Friday after the Aces had a 25-hour "travel debacle" on their trip to DC. The Aces now are "back on track." The team stayed in DC on Friday night and "flew Saturday to Connecticut" where they resumed their playoff run against the Sun. The WNBA has "not announced a forfeiture" for Friday's game, and the Aces are still 1 1/2 games behind the Dallas Wings for the final playoff spot. The Aces jointly with the WNBPA "contacted the WNBA and informed the league of its decision" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 8/5). The decision to cancel the game "was made about 90 minutes before tipoff." The Aces "did not arrive" in DC until 3:00pm ET for a scheduled 8:00pm game. All fans who had a ticket to the game "will receive a ticket to a future Mystics game" (AP, 8/3).
