FSU Debuts Hotly Debated Logo, Uniforms During Spring Game
Florida State Univ. on Friday "officially unveiled its new logo and uniforms for multiple sports the day before its annual Garnet and Gold Game." While most were "ecstatic about the new uniforms, the hotly contested logo change ... was not as well-received by some" (TALLAHASSEE DEMOCRAT, 4/13). The Univ. of Miami "followed suit on Saturday, unveiling a set of four new uniforms to make their debuts this fall" (CBSSPORTS.com, 4/12).
Notre Dame yesterday announced that it will install artificial turf at Notre Dame Stadium, with an "expected completion date of Aug. 15, 2014" (ESPN.com, 4/12). Meanwhile, the Univ. of Colorado on Friday announced plans "to break ground May 12" on a $143M project in and around Folsom Field. CU officials "had hoped to conduct the groundbreaking in conjunction with the spring game but were unable to raise" one-third ($47.6M) of the funding on time (Boulder DAILY CAMERA, 4/12).
