NFL Teams, Owners Grab The Headlines On Kickoff Sunday

As the NFL season kicks off, teams and owners grab the headlines today.  The N.Y. TIMES' Billy Witz in a Sports cover story looks at Jerry Jones' ownership under the header, "Cowboys: A Team Flush With Money, Not Success," while the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM's Clarence Hill Jr. wrote the franchise is "still Jerry's World". Elsewhere, Patriots Owner Robert Kraft has a "steadying hand on Pats' helm." Raiders Owner Mark Davis talks of his "desires for a new stadium." The Panthers are prospering with Charlotte's stadium aid. The Browns' Banner is "confident progress is imminent." Chiefs "history is ingrained" in team Chair & CEO Clark Hunt and his family. Finally, nostalgia for Candlestick Park is "thick" in the final year of 49ers' tenure there.
