NWSL's Angel City Secures DoorDash As Jersey Sponsor

DoorDash has agreed to become the jersey sponsor for the NWSL Angel City FC, which will begin play next year in L.A. Sources pegged the five-year pact as a high seven-figure deal, making it the NWSL’s largest jersey sponsorship. The deal also includes signage, radio, TV, social and digital inventory. Nike jerseys with DoorDash logos are expected be at retail this summer.

Angel City FC has positioned its sponsorship offerings as cause-related, not only because it has female ownership and is part of a women’s league, but with a requirement that 10% of every sponsorship be tithed to charitable causes. Accordingly, DoorDash will address local hunger through a tie-in with CARE and will try to deliver 250,000 meals to the needy in the sponsorship’s first year. DoorDash today will donate $5 to CARE per order from a list of participating L.A.-area women-owned restaurants, up to $15,000.
