Buccaneers To Mark Super Bowl Victory With Boat Parade

The Buccaneers today will celebrate their Super Bowl LV win with a boat parade on the Hillsborough River in Tampa. It will begin at 1:00pm ET, and fans "will be able to watch" from various spots along the river. There also will be a live stream on the Bucs, city of Tampa and Hillsborough County social media accounts. Unlike the Lightning celebration in September, "boaters won’t be allowed to take part in the procession." No post-boat parade festivities will take place, "another departure" from the Lightning event when "thousands of fans celebrated at Raymond James Stadium" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 2/10).

Meanwhile, Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski made the late-night talk show rounds, with NBC's Jimmy Fallon noting it was a “weird year” because Gronk went from Fox' “The Masked Singer” to winning the Super Bowl. Gronkowski: “It really hasn’t sunken in yet. ... I was talking football on Fox for a couple of weeks at the end of the last season, and then I had a Super Bowl party last year at the Super Bowl, and then I come back out of retirement. ... This is an incredible year.” Fallon: “Your first three Super Bowls came with the Patriots. Have you talked to (Bill Belichick) at all?” Gronkowski: “No, I have not.” Fallon: “You have to call that guy” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 2/9).

CBS’ James Corden asked Gronk about Tom Brady: “Has he ever gotten the full Gronk treatment on a night out? Can he party?” Gronkowski: “No man, we never really hit it like that, gone out like that. I mean, because we’ve got a pretty significant age difference.” Gronkowski said when the Super Bowl streaker ran onto the field, “I thought he was going to pull down his pants. I was like, ‘No man, you’re going too far.’ And then he had a thong-like bathing suit, and I thought, ‘Oh man, this guy was prepared’” (“The Late Late Show,” CBS, 2/9).
