MLB Set To Open Flagship Store In Midtown Manhattan

The MLB Flagship Store is opening Friday in midtown Manhattan, a two-story, 10,000 square-foot licensed-product emporium which the league is calling its first permanent retail location. Legends is operating the store, located beneath MLB’s HQ offices on Sixth Ave., and it will be open daily from 11:00am-7:00pm ET. Features include stations for customizing jerseys and socks; memorabilia from MLB Authentics, along with autographed and game-used items; and exclusive merchandise bearing the MLB NYC logo. The new MLB store is mere blocks from the NBA and NHL stores in N.Y.

The store was originally slated to open this summer, but faced delays. “The goal was always to open before holidays and we got there,” said MLB Chief Revenue Officer Noah Garden. “New York City is coming back and we hope this can be a part of that, with a unique space and a great shopping experience.” The World Series trophy will be on display at the store from Oct. 5-8.
