Late-Night Hosts Riff On UFC's Private Island Plan

CBS’ Stephen Colbert weighed in on the UFC's plan to stage fights on a private island, with the show airing a clip of UFC President Dana White assuring viewers everyone is going to be “safe” before, during and after the fights. Colbert: “Wait, ‘during’ the fights? ‘Don't worry, after I shatter your eye socket I'm going to wash my hands for two Happy Birthdays.’” White made assurances everyone is going to be “pre-tested and tested and tested.” Colbert remarked it is “good news” that there are "plenty of coronavirus tests.” Colbert: “The bad news? They're all on fight island. So, if your Nana's got a fever, just pop a mouthguard in and lower her into the octagon” (“Late Show,” CBS, 4/7).
