Redskins-Vikings "TNF" Game Met With Native American Protest
A large group of protesters "gathered a block away" from U.S. Bank Stadium around last night's Redskins-Vikings "TNF" game to "condemn Washington's team name." The protest "began at Peavey Field Park in Minneapolis, and the group then marched" to the stadium. The rally consisted of "speeches from congressmen, tribe leaders from across Minnesota and Native American song and dance rituals." Almost every speaker "took time to single out" Redskins Owner Dan Snyder (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 10/25). The group of about 300, "most of them Native Americans," chanted, "We are not your mascot!" (WASHINGTON POST, 10/25).
