UNC-Duke Rivalry Renewed: Freshmen Stars Drive Ticket Demand

North Carolina and Duke tonight renew their rivalry, and the presence of top NBA prospects Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish has added "more pop to the premier rivalry game in college basketball." Secondary ticket prices for tonight's game start at $2,500 for the "cheapest available ticket," according to data from TickPick. That is "just shy of the $2,674 you would have paid on Jan. 27 for the cheapest available ticket to the Feb. 3 Super Bowl." One ticket for tonight's game "sold for $10,652," per Vivid Seats (ESPN.com, 2/19).

Sources close to Duke basketball indicated that President Obama is "expected to attend." Duke officials "wouldn't confirm or deny that Obama will be at the game." However, "unusual security measures are in place" around Cameron Indoor Stadium (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 2/20).

See today's issue of THE DAILY for a look at how freshman phenom Williamson has accelerated Duke's already top-ranked social media following.
