Sources: On Location Experiences Explores Sale, May Fetch $800M

On Location Experiences, the hospitality arm of the NFL, is "exploring a sale after receiving expressions of interest," according to sources. Possible buyers "include Endeavor," as well as "concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment," the sources said. The 4-year-old company, whose investors also include RedBird Capital, Bruin Sports Capital and the Carlyle Group, "may fetch" more than $800M, a source said. The sources noted that there is "no formal sale process underway," and On Location also has "yet to hire a banker." They added that it is "possible a deal won't materialize." One source said that RedBird and BSC "each own" more than 30% of On Location. The NFL has about 20%, while Carlyle has about 10% (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 12/6).

LPGA's Mike Whan Excited About New Features To Schedule

LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan said the tour’s '19 schedule includes four new events, with three of them having "brand-new formats that we’ve never seen on the LPGA.” He said these include playing with celebrities, the “first official team event” and men and women “playing on the same course for the same purse level.” Whan: “I’m excited we’re going to show some fans some new locations, but I’m really excited we’re going to bring some new formats.” He also noted the tour’s global appeal with 10 different countries represented in the top 15 world rankings (“Golf Central,” Golf Channel, 12/6).

MLB Winter Meetings Get Presenting Sponsor For First Time

The MLB Winter Meetings will open Sunday with a presenting sponsor for the first time. Accounting firm CohnReznick is in the first of a four-year deal that will see it identified as the Winter Meetings presenting sponsor on MLB Network and other MLB-controlled social and digital media. The network will produce a “Business of Baseball” series and is creating more than 35 content pieces for distribution on the CohnReznick and MLB sites. Larry Rothstein’s Source Communications is CohnReznick’s longtime marketing agency.

Study Projects Traffic Issues With Isles' Belmont Arena Plan

An environmental impact study shows that the $1.2B plan to build a new Islanders arena and entertainment complex at Belmont Park "will increase traffic congestion in the area, even with additional Long Island Rail Road trains running to and from the site on game days." Board members of the Empire State Development Corporation "adopted the study" in a unanimous vote yesterday. Public hearings on the environmental impact "will be held for three days beginning Jan. 8, and written comments will be accepted through Feb. 11" (NEWSDAY, 12/7).

FC Dallas Launches USL League One Franchise

FC Dallas has "launched their USL League One franchise under the brand North Texas Soccer Club." The club will "wear the same colors as FC Dallas but have its own logo and uniform (yet to come) as well as the unique name." Initially, games for the new club "will be played at Toyota Stadium and in the short run the club is looking for various venues around North Texas in which to play." The long-term goal is a "stadium for the club to call it's own." FC Dallas President Dan Hunt also mentioned that season-ticket holders of FC Dallas "would get tickets" for North Texas SC games included (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 12/7).

DAZN Wants Trump, New Mexican President At Alvarez Bout

DAZN runs a full-page ad in today's edition of USA Today inviting President Trump to attend the Canelo Alvarez-Rocky Fielding fight at MSG on Dec. 15. The ad is under the header, "The Donald. The Garden. The Offer." The ad asks Trump to host new Mexico President López Obrador and offers "two ringside seats" for the fight, which will be free to stream on DAZN. The ad also is running today in Mexican paper La Reforma. Meanwhile, Trump is slated to attend tomorrow's Army-Navy game at Lincoln Financial Field (THE DAILY).

NFL Luminaries Expected For Bob McNair Memorial Service

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and former Secretary of State James Baker are "among the speakers" for a 2:00pm CT memorial service today for late Texans Owner Bob McNair at NRG Stadium. Other speakers "reflect McNair’s family ties to the Carolinas as well as his religious faith and his relationship to the NFL." NFL owners expected to attend include Jerry Jones, Amy Adams Strunk, Gayle Benson, Michael Bidwell, Arthur Blank, Clark Hunt, Jim Irsay, Virginia McCaskey and Art Rooney II. Also expected are Astros Owner Jim Crane and Rockets Owner Tilman Fertitta. About a thousand guests "have been invited to the service" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 12/7).
